Welcome to year 3. The year team consists of Mrs Lamb-Crawley, Miss Moran and Miss Tappenden. Our TAs are Mrs Gobbi, Mrs Urquhart and Mrs Laferla. We are thrilled that we get to spend the next year making wonderful, fun and exciting memories with you!

Homework will go home on Fridays and is to be completed and back at school the following Wednesday.

Reading Records need to be written in by children and/or adults at least 3 times a week. However, reading should be ideally happening every day.

PE Days

We will now be wearing PE kits on our PE days rather than keeping kits in school.

Upcoming Trips/workshops

This half term we will be a busy one as we have Class photos (22nd April), Polling Day (2nd May) and Sports Day (24th May).

Thursday 23rd May workshop ‘around the world’ in the hall.


In English, we’ll be reading the lovely story ‘The Dancing Bear'. Throughout our lessons we will be focusing on advanced instructional writing. In ddition to exploring the use of imperative verbs and prepositions in our instructions. Finally we will be writing first person narratives focusing on the use of pronouns


Maths this term will be covering fractions (adding, subtracting and partitioning), money (understanding,  adding and subtracting) and time. Children will be reasoning, expanding their answers and finding multiple answers to questions.

History & Geography

Our IPC topic is this half term is Travel and Tourism where our learning will be largely Geography focused. We will be looking at why tourists travel to different parts of the world, what a carbon footprint is and how it can be reduced and exploring the difference between manmade and natural geographical features.
