Year 3

Welcome to Year 3's Homepage.

Over the next half term, Year 3 willl be finishing our topic on How Humans Work and moving on to our topic of Bright Sparks

P.E days 3F and 3LC




In English this term, we are reading Leon and the Place Between by Grahame Baker-Smith. Using the story for inspiration, we will create narratives, diary entries, persuasive letters, instruction texts and non-chronological reports. The skills we will be learning for our writing are present and past tenses, sentence ending punctuation, commas, apostrophes and appropriate determiners.



In Maths this term, we will be consolidating our understanding of using column method to solve addition and subtraction. This will build on our understanding of place value. In multiplication, we will be focusing on our knowledge of the 2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and 8 timetables. Year 3 will also be looking at division through sharing, grouping and using arrays.    



In Science this term, we are approaching the end of our topic How Humans Work and shifting to Bright Sparks. In this new topic we will explore electricity and how circuits conduct it. We will be investigation how to design a fair test through a range of experiments.
