Our Geography topic for this term is What a Wonderful World, which focuses on the many amazing elements of physical geography in our world. We will be learning about the different biomes in our world, creating and analysing a range of topographical maps, understanding plate tectonics and the natural disasters that it can cause (earthquakes, volcano eruptions), and exploring the geographical features in our local area.

English

In English this term, we are focusing on the poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. We will be learning how to convert nouns into verbs using suffixes, using sensory language, learning how to incorporate semi-colons and colons into our writing and consolidating our understanding of subject-verb agreement. These skills will be used in diary entries, action scenes, and information leaflets.

Maths

In Maths this term, we will learn how to translate and reflect shapes on a four quadrant grid, how to convert units of measure (kilogram to milligram, metres to kilometres) and find the volume of 3D shapes.

Science

Our topic in Science this term is Animals Including Humans, which focuses on the growth and development of humans from birth to death. One of the key scientific skills we will utilise during this topic is plotting data accurately on a scatter graph.
